Jolied Rickshaw driver Mohammad Sujon, who gained attention in July, has collected the nomination form from the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) to contest the Dhaka-8 parliamentary seat. He received the form on Thursday (20 November) evening at the party’s temporary office.
Speaking to reporters, Sujon said, “If some can enter parliament by misusing orphan funds or performing stage shows, why can’t I enter as a rickshaw driver?”
Present at the event were NCP’s Chief Election Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari and Senior Joint Secretary Dr. Tasnim Zara.
In the Dhaka-8 constituency, BNP has nominated its Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, while Jamaat has given the nomination to Advocate Helal Uddin. Additionally, Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inquilab Mancha, has announced his candidacy as an independent candidate.
